What is a rotary oil seal?

Rotary oil seal, also known as rotary mechanical seal, is a seal used for hydraulic drive shaft seal and rotary shaft drive system shaft seal or end cap seal. The rotating oil seal is generally composed of an elastic rubber casing tightly filled with gas and a metal support structure, and its working principle is based on the design of lip sealing ring. When the shaft rotates, the lip of the sealing ring forms a sealed contact area with the shaft surface, preventing the leakage of liquid or lubricating oil from the outside of the shaft to the external environment.

Rotary oil seals are mainly divided into hapltype and assembly type, assembly type is the skeleton and lip material can be freely combined, generally used for special oil seals. It is mainly used for the sealing of the rotating shaft or sleeve to prevent liquid or lubricating oil from leaking between the shaft and the sleeve, especially for high-speed rotating parts, such as the crankshaft of the engine and the output shaft of the transmission. Rotary oil seal has a wide range of applications in industrial production and is an important component to ensure the normal operation of equipment.
